Où l 'histoire se répète...même dans les tribute groups!

Est-on en train de revivre l'épisode "sanglant" entre Gilmour et Waters dans le plus célèbre tribute groupe de la planète,The Australian Pink Floyd Show?

L 'histoire est un peu différente,mais le résultat est que l 'on va se retrouver en 2011 avec 2 mega groupes:The Australian Pink Floyd Show et The British Pink Floyd Show.

Le groupe a été créé en 1988 sous le nom de "think Floyd" en Australie.
En 1993 tout le monde déménage pour l 'Angleterre et le groupe change de nom pour devenir "The Australian Pink Floyd Show".
Depuis,le succès du groupe ne va cesser de croitre.Plusieurs rencontres avec David Gilmour pour asseoir la notoriété méritée des Aussies.2001,1er concert au Royal Albert Hall.Tournées mondiales à partir de 2003 avec des audiences de 5 000 à 10 000 spectateurs par concert(et même +).
Au cours des années,le groupe a du se renforcer avec des musiciens pour la plupart anglais.

Il semble que depuis 2 ans,l 'ambiance n 'était plus tout a fait la même et que des tensions se créaient entre les vrais Aussies et leur manager CMP entertainment.

La rupture est maintenant consommée:Les Aussies au complet changent de manager,et l 'ancien manager récupère quelques musiciens non australiens pour monter TBPFS.

Je fais confiance aux Australiens pour monter une tournée encore plus spectaculaire....lisez ce communiqué(en anglais) pour comprendre qu'ils ne plaisentent pas avec la qualité.
J 'espère que les British sauront faire leur place....sans parodier les Australians!

We are delighted to be able to announce that the band are finalising plans for the biggest and best Australian Pink Floyd Tour yet in 2011.

After twenty two years together, and having seen hundreds of other Pink Floyd tribute shows come and go, the band have decided it was time to improve the Show even further, and have parted ways with their former promoter, CMP.

Details of the new UK, European and US tours will be announced shortly, but the band are pleased to announce that we have already appointed Sound Engineer: Colin Norfield (Pink Floyd & David Gilmour), Drum Technician: Clive Brooks: (Nick Mason's drum technician), Show Production: Kevin Hopgood (Kylie Monogue & Mark Knopfler) and Legal representation: Simon Dixon at Bray and Krais (Oasis, Blur, Take That) and they continue to be managed by Kevin Brown at Zoo Management.

We look forward to delivering an even better Show featuring the same brilliant musicianship, stellar state-of-the-art light show, and using the best crew, equipment and sound systems available today.

The band continues to feature Steve Mac on Guitar/vocals, Colin Wilson on Bass/vocals, Jason Sawford on keys and the inimitable Paul Bonney on drums.

'We are all thrilled to once again have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and dedicated people not only on stage but behind the scenes on next year's tour. We are also very excited to be playing in the US again' said Steve Mac today.

Une sacré confusion règne chez les fans américains des australian pink floyd: une tournée est annoncée pour octobre novembre aux usa et au canada.Sur la plupart des sites de billets,on présente la nouvelle tournée avec le communiqué transmis par le site officiel des aussies (un simple copier coller).
Or,ce sont les british pink floyd qui joueront lors de cette tournée.Par un imbroglio juridique,CMP (l'ancien manager) estime qu 'il a le droit d 'exploiter le nom"the australian pink floyd show" jusqu'à la fin de l 'année.

Intéressant comme concept de pousser la ressemblance jusqu'à reproduire les distensions qui existaient au sein du groupe à qui l'on rend hommage.
Il parait qu'ils auraient virer le clavier et que le batteur commencerait à collectionner des voitures de courses...

In order to stop any speculation and confusion about recent comments claiming that the Australian Pink Floyd has changed it's name we thought we should set the record straight.

Any suggestion that that Australian Pink Floyd has in any way renamed itself is completely false and misleading. The Aussies remain the biggest and best Floyd tribute act in the world and will be announcing a brand new world tour in the coming weeks.

Steve Mac singer and guitarist from the band said earlier :
'We can't wait to get back out on the road with yet another brand new and bigger show in early 2011.
The new tour will be the most expensive show we have ever performed and we have some great surprises in store for our fans including 3D visual effects and quadraphonic sound. We have never been so strong.'

CMP Entertainment are delighted to announce that, British born musician, Damian Darlington, is to be the musical director for the European leg of the brand new Pink Floyd live spectacular, 'The British Pink Floyd Show'.

Damian, who has been the long time musical director for 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show' and has performed in every one of their performances since 1994, 1,264 shows in total, will also take responsibilities for lead guitar and vocals during the new Brit Floyd's UK and European shows in 2011.

Joining Damian on stage will be Ian Cattell on lead vocals and bass, Bobby Harrison on guitar, Carl Brunsdon on sax and percussion, Rob Stringer on keyboards, Arran Ahmun on drums, Ola Bienkowska on vocals, Emily Jollands on vocals and Jacquie Williams on vocals, all of who previously worked on 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show'. The entire road crew, including the sound and lighting operators, will also move from 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show'.

Damian said, "I think I can speak for all of the musicians and crew by saying these are exciting times. We've got a lot of surprises planned for 2011 and we look forward to seeing you at our Brit Floyd shows across Europe."

Chas Cole, CMP's managing director, who spotted the opportunity back in 1995 to promote a Pink Floyd tribute band on a grander scale and chose Aussie Floyd to do this said, "The journey with TAPFS has been a great experience. Taking a tribute band from the Limelight Club in Crewe through to London 02 Arena has certainly been an education... But now it's clear that the three Aussies have a different outlook and it's best that the rest of us go our own way."

Roger Waters a déjà essayé d'embaucher les guitaristes des Aussies pour les tournées In the flesh et Dark side...mais ils étaient déjà sous contrat!

Pour résumer,d 'après ce que j 'ai compris:
Depuis 2006,certains musiciens du groupe original avaient du mal à encaisser les longues tournées,surtout en Amérique du Nord. 3 mois de concerts à 5 représentations par semaine.
Peu à peu,des suppléants ont été engagés pour combler les vides.
Damian Darlington,le guitariste solo(anglais) a pris en main le spectacle et cela n 'était plus du goût des aussies originaux.D'où sans doute l 'origine de la rupture.

On va donc se retrouver avec 2 mega tributes groups de Pink Floyd pour 2011:

Les Britfloyd,qui vont entamer une tournée dans la lignée de ce qu 'on a vu cette année avec les Aussies:scène à la Pulse et une set list Best of Pink Floyd.

les Aussiefloyd qui conservent 4 des musiciens majeurs et qui promettent un show encore plus grand,mais qui doivent rebatir un spectacle avec une nouvelle équipe.


Dans les 2 cas,on aura le droit à du grand spectacle...et la concurrence va sans doute booster les 2 groupes(avec en + Roger Waters,qui n 'est pas Pink Floyd à lui tout seul )

En soit, c'est une bonne nouvelle. Soyons honnêtes, que ça soit Peter, Mike, Jean-Paul ou Gustav à la guitare ou au claviers, faut bien avouer qu'on s'en fiche un peu... on n'est pas là pour voir tel ou tel musicien (ce n'est ni Roger, ni David), mais bien pour entendre la musique de Pink Floyd.
Donc au final, 2 gros groupes tributes aux shows de très grande qualité, qui vont surement rivaliser d'ingéniosité. Résultat : tout benef' pour les amateurs du Floyd, puisque qu'on risque de voir 2 fois plus de concerts dans l'hexagone.
Et si les prochains spectacles sont de la qualité de la dernière tournée des Aussies, je suis prêt à retourner les applaudir.. qu'ils soient aussies ou british !

Sinon tout à fait d'accord avec Juju, c'est tout bénef pour nous les fans, c'est ça qui est bon !!....

Nouveau communiqué des AUSTRALIAN . Des promesses d'un très gros show,avec son quadriphonique et images en relief sur Mr Screen!....j'espère que l'on n 'aura pas à mettre les lunettes special 3d!
